Rich River Bowls Club

50+ members attended the 2010 Bowls opening day Presidents Margret McFadzean & Barry Brown welcomed the members and wished all well for the coming season, President Margret was invited to roll the first kitty & President Barry was invited to roll the first bowl  - no resting toucher but rather wide and short (that was the bowl). 48 players enjoyed the rest of the day playing 2 ends of 10 with afternoon tea between the games both games were played in nice conditions with the sun coming out mid second game. All players adjourned to  the club for presentations – Chris Stewart announced that there were only 2 2 game winners and asked President Margret to present first prize to Renn Richie (S) , Margret Griffiths, Ron Bentley & Ron Luke – Renn thank his players and wish the club and the Presidents the very best for the coming year. Second prize was present by President Barry to Geoff Stevens (S), Margret McFadzean, Graeme Edgar & Lyn Walker. An encouragement award was presented to the lowest scoring team Graham Kelly ((S)- chairman of Selection committee), M Spinks, Ken Marwood & Des Allan, Jack Spinks won the opening spider. 30+ members enjoyed a social evening meal in the James Maiden Bistro and a chance for a social chat – all enjoy the day – Special thanks to Chris Stewart for organising the day and ringing members for numbers & Bill McEwan for setting up and organizing the morning and taking the photos threw out the day – Bill has the year books available for all members they are in the office and available for pick up.
